Managers have the opportunity to set the menu, determine the best set-up and to be in charge during the shift.
The food stand is a fundraiser for the youth of Barron County 4-H, and provides Barron County 4-H teens with opportunities to build leadership and citizenship skills. Funds raised help fund service projects, leadership projects, travel and educational experiences and other opportunities directly benefiting the youth! The youth working in the stand get to decide exactly how the money supports 4-H.
Apply Here (Deadline May 15) – Managers will be selected based on experience leading groups, knowledge of the shake stand, and availability. Must be 15 to apply.
Youth Manager Expectations
- Work with adults to secure donations/supplies
- Develop procedures/signage for stand
- Responsible for following food management guidelines (sanitation, etc. – will be trained)
- Train volunteers at shift changes
- Manage the overall flow of the food stand while working (make changes as needed)
- Provide a welcoming environment to workers/customers
- Provide leadership in the stand and handle issues as they arise in a constructive manner
- Be available to meet BEFORE/AFTER the fair for set-up/cleaning,etc.
