Supplies are provided and can be picked up at your local extension office after registration closes (wait for an email with information). For sessions needing supplies, supplies will be available for the first 25 participants, but those that register beyond the first 25 are welcome to purchase their own supplies and participate.
Taste of 4-H provides youth with the opportunity to explore some of the 4-H project areas. Need not be a current 4-H member to participate.
Session Descriptions:
Poultry- Grades 3rd and up (October 15 at 6:30PM via Zoom): Dara Fillmore and Rowenna Janisch are sisters who enjoyed raising and showing poultry in 4-H as youths, and now judge poultry at county fairs around Northwest WI. They love to pass on their knowledge regarding showing and Showmanship to the 4-H youth of today.
Cloverbud-Story Solver-grades K-2 (October 22 at 6:30PM via Zoom): Join us as we explore a book and discover the challenges its characters face! Cloverbuds will become young engineers, using creativity, problem-solving, and hands-on building skills to design solutions to challenges inspired by the story. Supplies: index cards, pipe cleaners, straws, craft sticks, and paper clips, papercups. Tape is not provided.
LEGO Fooseball Challenge-grades 3 and up (November 3 via zoom): Explore the principles of force and motion while designing and building a homemade fooseball game. Supplies: LEGOS (not-provided), ping pong ball, dowels, clothes pins (provided if needed).
Introduction to Weaving-grades 3 and up (November 10 via zoom): Learn weaving basics and create a unique woven item—a bookmark, coaster, or whatever you decide! Supplies provided: a small loom, yarn, and plastic needles. Not provided: tape, scissors, fabric, chunky yarn, or ribbon.
