6/22 – Motorboats and Aluminum Can Flowers

Have you ever wanted to create your very own motorboat, but never had the time or materials? How about that lonely spot on your shelf at home – does it need a little visual appeal?

If you answered yes to either of these questions, then this Maker Monday is for you. You will learn the basics of creating circuits and discover what makes a boat, not only float, but move.

For the more creative types, our volunteers will teach you a bit about metal working as you turn aluminum cans into beautiful floral arrangements. Be ready to paint and create.

The only thing you are required to bring is an imagination and a willingness to create.

Please show your interest by signing up here as materials may be limited

6/29 Hydraulics and Marble Painting

Have you ever seen a crane in action and wondered how such a small piece of machinery could lift such large objects? If so, come down to the Maker Space and learn how engineers make machines that can lift many times their weight with ordinary liquids, or, hydraulics. You will work with volunteers to build your very own hydraulic devices.

Have you ever used whipped cream, a toy marble, and science to create art? Today, we’re turning some surprising materials into masterpieces—and each one moves in a totally different way. You will create different works of art using shaving cream, marbles and other “marbling” products.
