Enclosed with this letter is the Market Steer Registration form for the December 2nd weigh-ins.
To help speed up the registration process, you are receiving the registration form in advance of
identification (tagging) and weigh-in on December 2nd. Each member weighing in animals is receiving an individual form. Please complete the top part of the form only, and bring to weigh-
ins. Each beef steer will be identified with an electronic RFID ear tag.

Do not sign this form until after your steer/s are weighed, tagged, registered, and you have checked the information for accuracy.

Steers should not be born prior to January 1 of the previous fair year. Animals must be castrated
prior to weigh-ins. No horns will allowed at weigh-ins. Scurs are acceptable. Animals must be
tagged by the official person who is tagging animals with the electronic RFID tag when it leaves
the chute or it will not be considered registered for the 2024 Barron County Junior Livestock
Market Animal project.

If your animal accidentally loses a tag at home, it must be replaced. Try to find the missing tag,
and retain it in a zip lock bag for one of the beef superintendents, Pete Kolpack or Kristin
Hanson. Contact Pete Kolpack at 715.234.2181, extension 5442 or email
kolpackp@ricelake.k12.wi.us to have the tag replaced, or you may contact Kristin Hanson and
715.537.5627, extension 126 or email hansonk@barron.k12.wi.us

considered a family member, parent must have legal custody of John and Jane Doe or are
legal guardians.

Members are required to pay for the electronic tags their animals will be tagged with. Tag costs,
are $3.50 per tag (or per animal). (Example-if weighing in two animals, cost is $7.00.) Please
bring the exact amount as no change will be given back. Checks will be accepted and should be
made payable to Barron County Junior Livestock Committee.

The Junior Livestock Committee is required to include a line for Premise ID on the registration
