4-H offers virtual opportunities in October/November

Open to all youth, need not be a 4-H member to join the fun! Some Supplies will be provided and can be picked up at your local Extension Office

Taste of 4-H Virtual Sessions:

Cloverbud Fun (Monday, November 3 6:30-7:15 PM via zoom)–CLOVERBUDS Grades K-2: Head, Heart, Hands, Health – Make a 4-H lantern with us and learn about 4-H and the 4-H pledge!

Science of a Pumpkin Pie (Thursday, October 23rd 6:30-7:30 PM via Zoom)–Grades 3 and up: Learn the purpose of each ingredient in this popular fall dessert. Making slight changes in your ingredients could make for a better pie, or maybe not. Either way, it is a good way to learn science. SUPPLIES ARE NOT PROVIDED. A supply list and recipes will be emailed and mailed prior to the session.

Pipe cleaner Flowers (Monday October 27th 6:30-7:15via Zoom) – Grades 3 and up: Join us to make a pipe cleaner clover and flower! The 4 leaf clover is the well known symbol of 4-H and now you can make one at home. Add a pipe cleaner flower for a neat decoration. a lesson plan and supplies will be shared prior to the session.

Paper Circuits (Thursday, October 30 6:30-7:30 PM via Zoom) Make your greeting card come to life with LED lights and a simple circuit! Get Creative with paper circuits and make your picture light up in a hands-on, visually engaging way to learn about electricity and circuits! Learn how a basic electronic circuit works using conductive materials (copper tape) to connect LED lights and batteries. Supplies/Lesson will be shared ahead of time.

Paper Quilling (Thursday, November 6 6:30-7:30 PM – Grades 3 and up: Quilling is a beautiful art form that lets you create intricate designs by simply rolling and shaping paper. The session will provide the main materials you’ll need to get started: a quilling tool (used for rolling the paper strips), the paper strips themselves, and cardstock for your base design. The most important thing to remember is to bring your own glue. Any liquid craft glue that dries clear will work perfectly. A bottle with a fine tip is helpful for precise application, but you can also use a toothpick to apply small dots of glue.
