Barron County 4-H Camps Information
4-H Summer Camp (3-6 Grade) Barron, Pierce, Polk, St. Croix Counties
4-H Summer Camp at Camp Kiwanis
4-H Camp will be held at the beautiful Camp Kiwanis on the St. Croix River, just ten miles north of Stillwater, Minnesota.
This site has all the accommodations for an exciting camping experience: well-maintained buildings, spacious lawns, ample equipment, accredited staff and a safe environment away from major highways.
Recreational facilities at Camp Kiwanis include: 30’ x 60’ outdoor swimming pool, basketball and tennis courts, sand volleyball court, tetherball area, canoeing, large campfire circle, craft building, wilderness hiking trails, and softball diamond.
4-H Base Camp features:
- Fellowship and friendship from a four-county area (Barron, Pierce, Polk, and St. Croix)
- A 1/7 counselor/camper ratio. Counselors are high school youth who have been screened and trained by 4-H staff
- Terrific food
- An adult staff of Extension Educators, volunteers, and college students
4-H Base Camp 2024: $140
Base Camp (for campers in currently in grades 3-6) June 12-14 (Wednesday-Friday)
Cost: Cost per camper is $140, each county determines how to offset this cost. This information will be communicated with you directly by your county.
Outpost Camp (7-8 Grade) Barron, Pierce, Polk, St. Croix Counties
4-H Outpost Camp will be held at William O’Brien State Park on the St. Croix River, just ten miles north of Stillwater, Minnesota.
Campers will begin their experience at Camp Kiwanis to take a mandatory swimming test before being bussed to the Osceola boat landing to canoe to our campsite. If this is an issue, please contact Lindsay Spindler, Polk County 4-H Program Education, as soon as possible to discuss alternative activities. Luggage will be transported by vehicle to the campsite.
4-H Outpost Camp features:
Two nights of camping under the stars
Great food and fun in an outdoor setting
Nature education activities
Bonding with youth from 4 counties
4-H Outpost Camp 2024: $100
For campers 7th-8th grade, June 12-14 (Wednesday-Friday)
Cost: Cost per camper is $100, each county determines how to offset this cost. This information will be communicated with you directly by your county.
Passport to Summer Olympics – Cloverbud Camps (K-2 Grade) Barron, Burnett, Rusk, Sawyer Washburn Counties
Pick up your passport to Summer Olympics (any youth in grades K-2)
Complete 6 or more activities on the pages of the book and email, mail, or drop off the last page to your local Extension Office. Activities include: Exploring something new in Barron, Burnett, Rusk, Sawyer and/or Washburn Counties; attending any or all of the Cloverbud Camps, and completing any or all of the 6 activities included! We hope you have some fun this summer and get your book “stamped” along the way!
